This is James from Golfify. Today, I'm thrilled to guide you through the process of organizing a Ryder Cup style match play event across multiple rounds, with an added feature of individual leaderboards - a highly-requested format by our user community.

What's New with Golfify 5.0?

The exciting news is that Golf by 5.0 now allows you to organize a Ryder Cup style match play along with individual leaderboards all within a single event. It’s a seamless process to switch between these leaderboards, making the user experience even more enjoyable.

Setting up Your Event

  1. Initiating a Multi-Round Event: Start by clicking on the '+' button, then select 'multi round event'. Name your event, for instance, "Ryder Cup with Individual".
  2. Choosing the Leaderboard Type: For a Ryder Cup style, traditionally, you'd pick the 'group team leaderboard'. However, to integrate individual scores, select both 'individual and group team' from the available options.
  3. Configuring Scoring Method: Change your scoring method to matchplay. Once the event is created, you can append the stableford or stroke play leaderboard.
  4. Team Formation: The structure limits you to two group teams, for example USA and Europe. You can then choose the number of players representing each team, keeping in mind that the total players in your event will be double the number you select for one team.
  5. Customizing Rounds: You have the flexibility to customize each round. While the format can remain as default, you can also change it to include a team format for example, 'better ball’.
  6. Player Management: The next crucial step is adding players to your teams. With Golfify, you can create a main group with all your players, and then create subgroups within it like 'USA' and 'Europe'. This ensures Golfify identifies which players are on which team. For instance, you can add Tiger Woods and Nelly Corder for the USA, and Justin Rose and Giorgio Hall for Europe.
  7. Assigning Players: Use the color-coded groupings to assign players to their respective slots. An 'auto assign' option is available, but you can also manually choose your tee slots.

Integrating Stableford or Strokeplay Leaderboard

  1. Navigate to the 'leaderboard settings' in your event settings menu to access this new feature exclusive to version 5.0.
  2. You have the option to toggle leaderboards on/off, but it's advisable to keep them on.
  3. Simply toggle the Stableford or Strokeplay leaderboards to on, according to your needs. You can customise further using the advanced options below, this allows you to add more properties to the leaderboard.
