Matchplay Pairs - Combined Score / Two Scores to Count

This guide explains how to set up and manage a match play event on Golfify where the scores of both players in each pair are combined and compared against the opponent's pair. Follow these detailed steps to create a smooth and fun event.

1. Event Setup

Create a New Event

• Event Type: Choose between a single round or multi round event.
• For multi round events, you'll edit rounds separately.
• Match Play Option: Scroll down to select the match play, Ryder Cup style event. You can also create from scratch.
• In this guide's example, we will use a single round event with the group team event type, but if using a multi round event you can customize each round in a similar way.

2. Configure Game Modes and Scoring

Navigate to Game Modes & Scoring

• Game Mode: Set up the event with match play pairs.
• Format: Choose the Better Ball format.

Aggregation Method:

• Select Addition to sum the scores of each pair.
• (Optionally, you may choose Multiplication; note that this can complicate individual leaderboard calculations if you are using one.)

Better Ball Variation:

• Use the standard variation for simplicity.
